On the last day of the year, I finished reading

I started this book just this week and ended it faster than expected.
A complete page-turner. Fantastically written. It was my time well invested.
Rollercoaster of Hope by my friends Dhimant Bakshi and Mayuresh Kore captures the turnaround story of Imagicaaworld Entertainment (Imagicaa) with rare honesty and depth.
It is not just a business book it is a lived experience of grit, resilience, and belief.
What makes this story deeply personal for me is my long association with Imagicaa right from the ground-breaking stage, through the trust and vision of Mr. Manmohan Shetty. Jai Malpani and Shreya Malpani and the Malpani Group has invested into this and has facilitated an awesome turnaround.
Nandan GSE Pvt Ltd was entrusted with building the “I for India” ride the only Indian-designed and Indian-built ride in the entire park.
That project remains one of the most important milestones in Nandan’s journey.
In many ways, we learned how to build theme park rides because of this very order.
When TÜV SÜD from Germany conducted a third-party audit of our engineering and safety systems, they were genuinely surprised at the depth of detailing, redundancy, and factory-level safety thinking especially from an Indian company entering this space for the first time.

That validation stays with me.
I have immense admiration for Mr. Shetty’s courage, project leadership, and long-term vision. Building something of this scale in India requires more than capital it requires conviction. Thank you shetty Sir … I will always love you.
This book is a reminder that:
Big dreams come with brutal troughs
Turnarounds test not just balance sheets, but belief systems
And hope when backed by execution can indeed survive a rollercoaster
I do hope to do a podcast conversation on this story sometime, because there are lessons here every entrepreneur needs to hear.
A must-read for anyone who has ever built, stumbled, and chosen to stand up again.
Rollercoaster of Hope chronicles the extraordinary turnaround of Imagicaa, India’s first world-class theme park, from near-collapse to revival.
At its core, the book is not about rides or parks it is about:
Vision that refuses to die, even when capital dries up
Founder resilience in the face of debt, doubt, and public scrutiny
Operational discipline replacing chaos
Hard decisions financial, emotional, and strategic.
